Kenneth "Red" Hansen started his cabinetmaking career in 1945 when he was 18 years old. Cabinetmaking grew to be his first love and remained that way throughout his career. In 1967, after learning the tricks of the trade from dozens of skilled craftsmen, Red founded Hansen Custom Cabinets in Chicago. The shop has since moved to Lake Villa and today employs many talented craftsmen.

Red maintained only the highest standards of quality and often preached "never let that quality dwindle." He taught his skills, attitude, values, and business sense to his sons Rick and Keith who operate the business today. Red passed away in 2000, but his legacy lives on with every job we produce.
